Carols cafe is a takeaway/restaurant situated just off the high street in Invergordon. A very popular little cafe with both locals and tourists. There is a wide variety of food available both in the restaurant and take away, not only seafood, but burgers and chicken is also available, with a wide range of drinks too. The cafe also has specials on for the school lunchtime rush, and is very popular with the students from the local high school. The portion size is value for money, and is affordable. Each meal is made to perfection, there is no question about it the local produce which carols cafe use is superb. The take away area of the cafe is clean, however is rather narrow and small, and when cruise liners are in Invergordon, then it is very busy and many customers have to stand outside while waiting for there food. Unfortunately this causes a little bit of chaos with customers trying to enter or leave the restaurant especially families with little children and pushchairs, as the entrance door is right next to the exit door and when it is crowded there is very limited space. The menu boards are rather difficult to see unfortunately, and ther are many hand printed signs put up which makes it rather confusing, especially as they are some distance away from the front of shop, and you have to strain your eyes to see. The tables etc in the restaurant are well laid out and the whole cafe is clean and respectable. It is a good old fashioned cafe. sometimes however customers sitting down in the cafe, have to wait a little longer than those in the take away which can be frustrating especially for little children who are hungry.Overall a popular good old fashioned cafe, with delicious simple local food. Well recommended.
